Fun without technology

From Sante Fe, New Mexico:  Debie and I enjoyed a meal in a restaurant here tonight. We were really amused and entertained as locals gathered around the bar and played Trivial Pursuit.  Not with the popular electronic consoles that travel from table to table in sports bars today, but with good old cards and using their voices. Conversations ensued, people introduced themselves to one another, and fun was had by all.  We enjoyed watching them play and even discussed if we’d ever see this in our home town.  We concluded it wasn’t likely, as people would think it was a step back to the “dark ages”.

"Don't go around saying the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was here first." Mark Twain

Quote 2

From Marine Corps Chaplain Father Dennis O'Brien: "It is the soldier, not the poet who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the reporter who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who gives the protester the right to burn the flag." found on:
