Why Beck’s plane is special

You’ve probably seen my previous post about Gerry Beck’s plane and asked why it was so special.  To be honest, I didn’t know all the details until I read this today from the Osh Kosh website.  What Beck has done is worthy of praise, and quite creative.  Basically, he found a way to build a P-51 cheaper than restoring an actual bird.  I don’t know how much cheaper. I’m clueless when it comes to what it takes. I do know that the guys who take on these projects deserve a lot of praise.  They put in a lot of hours to restore pieces of history that we can all gawk at during the air shows.  So, a big thanks to all of them…and BLUE SKIES!

"Don't go around saying the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was here first." Mark Twain

Quote 2

From Marine Corps Chaplain Father Dennis O'Brien: "It is the soldier, not the poet who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the reporter who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who gives the protester the right to burn the flag." found on: www.robreider.com
