Osh Kosh: Bits and pieces

I’ve been trying to get more perspective on the air show in
Wisconsin.  On some of the blog postings I found from the locals up there, it was just like listening to some people here in Indy when the races are here (you know Indy 500, US Grand Prix and Brickyard 400).  Some people don’t like all the traffic it brings to their city, or the lines in the local stores, but most realize it has great economic impact on their city and seem to enjoy the diversity it brings to them once a year.  Unfortunately, I didn’t find anything that was a great read.  I did the Technorati search, went through the first 8 or 9 pages, but, well, just bits and pieces.

Also, in trying to get a flavor for what visitors felt, I found these:

* First, here is some local newspaper coverage of the air show in Osh Kosh, WI.  There’s a photo gallery link in the bottom right corner.

* I haven’t read all the entries yet, but here is a blog from a vendor at the EAA (Garmin).

* And I found this blog from a pilot attending the show.

* Someone’s pictures.  They got pictures of the Beach Boys during their performance there, too.

* Another vendor blog.

And there is so much more for you to browse, if you have time.  You can find them all on this Technorati search for EAA, and it sorts from recent to latest, so the weekend posters, who will see the most as the weekend is the busiest, will have their posts listed as the weekend progresses.  Again, its bits and pieces, but it gives you a feel for what is taking place.  There were lots of people who found the F-22 demo awe inspiring.

If you find any nuggets that I’ve missed, please share them in the comments, or post them on your blog and give me a heads up!  J

"Don't go around saying the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was here first." Mark Twain

Quote 2

From Marine Corps Chaplain Father Dennis O'Brien: "It is the soldier, not the poet who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the reporter who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who gives the protester the right to burn the flag." found on: www.robreider.com
