Air Races, local Reno Coverage

Articles from today’s Reno Gazette Journal on the air races are here and here.  There is a story waiting to be told!  Just look at the last paragraph of the second article:  “A handful of us went to the bank and signed a note,” Roy Powers, a former casino marketing director, told the Reno Gazette-Journal in 2003. “We mortgaged our houses. We didn’t tell our wives.”The air races survived. Now, Robyn Powers wants to tell their story.  I think it is a good story to tell.

Quote 2

From Marine Corps Chaplain Father Dennis O'Brien: "It is the soldier, not the poet who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the reporter who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who gives the protester the right to burn the flag." found on: www.robreider.com
