Air Racing: 9/19/06

The Chasin’ Tail racing team posted updates throughout the week on their efforts.  I’m sorry I didn’t go back and read this more often.  They race in the biplane class and there is some great insight to the racing on their blog.

Enjoy the following:  more pictures of the MM mishap from the weekend, conjecture and rumors for next year are already circulating,  an F18 ran the course this week (funny that wasn’t mentioned before) and ran it at 657 mph!  8 g’s sustained.  John Travolta flew his 707 at Reno and is subject of this rumor; some more Thunder Mustang photos, the T-6 race starting (bottom of page), and some more jet racing pictures.

And to wrap up, here are a couple more blogs with pictures:  KDM Guy and Phillip.

From Marine Corps Chaplain Father Dennis O'Brien: "It is the soldier, not the poet who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the reporter who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who gives the protester the right to burn the flag." found on: www.robreider.com
