Autism and TV

I’m not sure I buy into this.  The article itself says the evidence is not conclusive.  This could be a controversial study as it progresses, too, because if TV were directly correlated to autism, it would implicate that this is the parents fault.  I doubt too many parents would appreciated this.  I have a couple of friends that have autistic children, and based on what I know about their lifestyles, I don’t think their children are getting an overdose on television.

Couldn’t agree more. I do think though, that exposure to TV causes some children to lapse into a state of mind that certainly doesn’t help. particularly children who are what I would call ‘on the edge’. I am 100% convinced that children are NOT born autistic. My boy wasn’t. he was developing normally, then suddenly started leaving us in the space of a few months.

From Marine Corps Chaplain Father Dennis O'Brien: "It is the soldier, not the poet who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the reporter who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who gives the protester the right to burn the flag." found on: www.robreider.com
