OJ still gets press

The headlines say the show and book are cancelled.  I say it should not have been given the light of day.  This should not even be a headline because the networks should have shot it down without a second thought.  OJ has had his time in the spotlight.  The victims will never see the spotlight again.  So – even though the deal is cancelled, he’s still getting time in the press and getting attention.  What is it that marketing people say?  Bad press is better than no press?  I’m just pissed the idea ever saw the light of day.  It shouldn’t have.

Update:  Arthur weighs in.

Bob and Tom were railing on this today also. I didn’t catch all of it, but I think they mentioned he was already PAID for this stuff. All it does is make you even more upset. I hope the lawyers get that payment from him and give to the victim’s families – OJ still owes those people millions, doesn’t he?

My observation about his “get out of jail free” card from a jury of his peers is that just as we are starting to see many convicted felons released because of either bad juries or poor lawyering, this is the flip side of what can happen when a “celebrity” hits the courtroom.

Maybe the American public is finally getting fed up with its long love affair with sports stars and entertainment stars who rake in the big bucks and commit felonies at the same time – then take a slap on the hand and walk away.

I am comforted by the public outcry against this psycho ever getting any more face time anywhere. How do you suppose he explained this big project to his children? Haven’t they had enough already?

    Vive la republique!

Yeah, he still owes like over $30 million or something like that.

From Marine Corps Chaplain Father Dennis O'Brien: "It is the soldier, not the poet who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the reporter who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who gives the protester the right to burn the flag." found on: www.robreider.com
