What message is this sending?

I just read this post from Wil Wheaton.  Just reading about this made me angry. The short version of the story is this:  Busy body HOA president thinks a peace sign wreath is offensive and asks for it to be taken down.  HOA president has since backed off.  I’m wondering if this same person (the HOA president) is screaming for our troops to be brought back home.  Did they stop to think about what kind of message this sends?  And if they are for the troops being where they are – it still is hypocritical.  Isn’t this kind of freedom that the boys and girls overseas are fighting for?  Go figure!

Update:  Here’s an example of a whole city falling victim to sending mixed messages.

"Don't go around saying the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was here first." Mark Twain

Quote 2

From Marine Corps Chaplain Father Dennis O'Brien: "It is the soldier, not the poet who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the reporter who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who gives the protester the right to burn the flag." found on: www.robreider.com
