Thunderbird Malachowski profiled on NBC

The sound of jets will make me turn around in a hurry.  It is like a drug to me.  I love that sound.  So last night I turned around to see that the NBC Nightly news profiled Nichole Malachowski, the U.S. Thunderbird pilot.  You can launch a video of Maj. Malachowski in the middle of this article, which happens to be different than what was on the newscast with Brian Wilson.  The media has been making a big deal of Maj. Malachowski since she is the first female Thunderbird.  She has handled it very well, and is justifiably proud of being the first female flyer, yet humbly reminds people it about TEAM as they cast the accolades upon her.  What a great role model for my girls – and all the other young ladies out there.

"Don't go around saying the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was here first." Mark Twain

Quote 2

From Marine Corps Chaplain Father Dennis O'Brien: "It is the soldier, not the poet who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the reporter who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who gives the protester the right to burn the flag." found on:
